Subscribing to updates from the Victims of Crime Commissioner
We may collect your personal information to register you to receive updates, including newsletters and updates from the Victims of Crime Commissioner.
We may add your email address to our distribution lists, from which you can unsubscribe at any point.
We will not disclose your personal information without your consent, except where required to do so by law. To request access to your personal information, contact enquiries@vocc.vic.gov.au.
If you choose not to provide this information, you may not be able to receive our updates.
Registering for an event or training
We may collect your personal information to register you for our events and training, to contact you about the training or event, and for reporting purposes.
We may add your email address to our mailing list, from which you can unsubscribe at any point. Your personal information may be used to distribute content following the training or event, to collect feedback, or contact you about future training or events.
We will not disclose your personal information without your consent, except where required to do so by law. You may contact us to book directly, or to request access to your personal information via enquiries@vocc.vic.gov.au.
If you choose not to provide this information, you may not be able to participate in our events.
Collection by Microsoft
Microsoft may also collect your personal information as a result of using Microsoft. The privacy information for Microsoft details the collection, use, disclosure, and storage information by Microsoft.

We collect information about stakeholders, including organisations and agencies we interact with on a regular basis. For example, we retain copies of correspondence and minutes of meetings. This will include some personal information such as names and contact details.

Collection by Vision6
We share stakeholder email addresses to Vision 6, an email marketing software, for the purpose of sending broadcast emails and newsletters.
The Privacy Policy for Vision 6 details the collection, use, disclosure, and storage information by Vision6.
Enquiries and Complaints
We collect information about victims of crime who contact us to enquire about their treatment in the justice system or make a complaint. For example, we retain copies of correspondence and minutes of meetings. This will include some personal information such as names and contact details. When a complaint is investigated by the VOCC, we also collect information from the victim of crime as well as the relevant agency regarding the details of the complaint and the agency response to the complaint.
We store some of this information in a customer relationship management database called Dynamics 365. This is to help us to communicate more efficiently with stakeholders and report on this work.
If you choose not to provide this information, the Commissioner may be limited in what they can do in response to your complaint.
